My deepest condolences to all those who tragically lost their lives in the Air-India plane crash and to all those who lost their lives within the hostel building. It is truly tragic. The Tata Group has announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of those killed in the Air India Flight AI171 crash near Ahmedabad on Thursday. Additionally, medical cover will be extended to all injured passengers, the conglomerate said in an official statement.
But please understand that they are obligated to pay Rs. 1.78 crores to every passenger in case of death in a crash, NOT just Rs. 1 crore. We all respect the TATA group, but let me tell you that this time they are responsible for the deaths of passengers. They DID NOT maintain that plane despite 15+ show cause notices from DGCA. The plane was NOT airworthy and TATA Air India is 100% to blame. Life is priceless, let’s not make it cheap.
Instead of compensating all those who lost their lives, which makes no sense because what can a dead person do with a crore? Now there will all sorts of fighting and court cases among relatives to claim the compensation. Tata should have spent this amount to keep their planes in top condition. This would have prevented this tragedy from happening in the first place.
I strongly ask the PMO and the Aviation authority to investigate into the cause of this tragedy .
